Native American Heritage Month, American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month, Native Heritage Day, and Indigenous Peoples Day—Whichever names you choose to call it...remember that while November and these events are over, every day should be a day to acknowledge the first peoples of this land.

Indigenous peoples have deep roots here that transcend temporal connection to something much greater. The land that we stand on, and the people born from it for thousands of years are one and the same. Despite 500+ years of colonization trying to force us to forget who we are, Indigenous peoples are still here. Challenge yourself to learn more, ask questions, and consider the systems imposed on us to take (and maintain) the land you're on.
